Torah Reader | Baal Koreh
Congregation B'nai Sholom-Beth David (CBS-BD) is a Conservative USCJ-affiliated congregation in Rockville Centre, NY. CBS-BD fosters a welcoming, inclusive, and participatory Jewish community.
CBS-BD is seeking a Torah Reader (Baal Koreh) to serve its active and engaged community of approximately 200 member families and read Torah on Monday & Thursday mornings at 6:45 AM, Saturday late afternoon/evening services (1 hour-45 minutes before Shabbat ends) and 37 specific holiday mornings (ie. Pesach, Chanukah, etc). This position is available to start immediately.
Qualifications:
Must be well-versed in Hebrew and Torah trope (Cantillation) and have sufficient experience to enable the Baal Koreh to chant the portion clearly and audibly. Our synagogue does not require that this person be within walking distance.
